CAM - CAE

We use specific programs and equipment for computer-aided design (CAD), manufacturing (CAM) and engineering (CAE) of the tested models.

The workshops for manufacturing models of ships, propellers and appendages (rudders, fins etc.) have the usual equipment for this kind of facilities and three numerically controlled milling machines with the following specifications:

BERMAQ five-axes milling machine with capacity to produce models and any kind of pieces up to:
  • 10.950 mm long
  • 2500 mm wide
  • 1200 mm high
  • Rotational speed: 1000 to 20000 rpm
  • Power: 12 kW
  • Control: SIEMENS, SINUMERIK 8400.
  • Materials: Aluminum, Bronze, Wood, Paraffin wax , PVC, polystyrenes, polyurethanes and other compounds.
  • Use: manufacturing of hull models and large-size appendages.
